(There's something absolutely hilarious I have to get from Wellington... note to self...) 2006 has gifted us a pretty brilliant Christmas. I woke up at like 8am... ish. To a little Santa sack containing pens, picture frames, body lotion and lollies. Shower, dress... gifts with the fam. I got an "A" initial necklace, a better-quality hair straightener, massage stuff, photography stuff, vouchers etc. At about 11am we went over to our neighbours house for drinks (a Christmas tradition between our two families). There were chocolate-dipped strawberries. Uh-huh. The weather got really hot by then which was awesome. We were there for a couple of hours. Then we came home and had croissants with cold ham, tomato, cheese etc. and trifle. Which was awesome... I'd been hanging out all fucking year for that trifle. Sigh. We sat around for a bit and Emily put of Mission Impossible and I fell asleep on the couch. Hahaha. I never ever thought I'd fall asleep on Christmas day, I feel really old and boring now. I slept until about 3.30pm. My phone is being completely retarded so I finally established I could go round to Bradens and went. His presents not ready yet. And I can't say anymore cause he might read. Hehe. He got me the best present of the whole day... a pomegranate!!!!!!! Practically every week Martha (Stewart) mentions or features them on her show, and I never ever could find them here in NZ. But he found one! So I'm pretty much excited beyond words to slice, tap and devour it... yeah none of you will understand my excitment... tomorrow tomorrow... He also got me pretty pretty earrings that I liked, and the original Spanish version of Vanilla Sky, Apres los Ojos DVD aaand a long string of blue fairy lights, which follow on from a conversation we had in Essex Street last week about palm trees. Just writing this now I really want dawn to come so I can see him. Oh, boy. I also met his grandma and granddad, I'm pretty sure he's told me his granddad had a stroke... anyway he reminded me of my nana (mum's mum) and that's what she'd had. Haha oh mum got Braden a toolkit pmsl. She likes practical gifts. A lot. I got his family a little metal Christmas tree from this craft place. My parents picked me up at like 5ish I guess and we went out to my cousin Lynn's house in Biddeford for Christmas dinner with all my dad's side of the family. My second cousins who are both primary school age both got goddamn iPods from Santa. Anyway, so that set all the ancient relatives off into big awed discussions about technology which lasted like 30years, then petered off, and then popped up again later in the night and continued with pretty much the same points stated earlier, repeated. Haha. Blah blah blah it was a fun evening. I got a Glassons gift voucher. Not really the world's biggest Glassons fan, but I do happen to need some shorts and a plain shirt so it works out rather conveniently hehe. And from the rest of the family I got a 24piece cutlery set which sounds terribly boring and ancient, but I actually kinda got excited over it hehe. I mean I'm establishing a crockery collection in preperation for the big depart in the new year so they just sort of add to it... all I need now are dinner plates really. And I think mum's got some leftovers from sets where the others cracked etc. Which will certainly do. Speaking of, Ash and I placed an add on FF tonight. Hehehehe. Our ad. But unless something perfect comes up I'm just going to go to the public hostel. It's all so exciting.
Oh man look at this. It's fucking gorgeous. By Olivier Duhamel.
And that's me playing with fairy lights and wishing you... joyeux noel, merry Christmas, seasons greetings, happy holidays, etc. etc. etc. |
